2021/2022 Season

The Norwell Basketball Association ("NBA") offers Norwell boys in grades 4 through 8 the opportunity to play competitive basketball against local towns.  The NBA will be fielding at least two (2) teams for each grade. Depending on turnout and participation the NBA may expand each grade to three (3) or more teams provided there is sufficient interest from players and competent coaching is available.

This year we will be using a registration program that will allow you to register your child, pay participation fees, execute waivers and required paperwork.  You will also use this link to order your child’s uniform.

In order for your child to participate in the NBA evaluation process and team formation we must have his registration complete no later than October 16, 2021. Registration will be available on October 1, 2021.

Player evaluations will take place October 19th through October 22nd at The Wolves Den (340 Oak Street, Pembroke, MA). More information will be available shortly as plans to conduct evaluations are finalized in the coming days. Please check our website, social media, and future editions of the Cole, Vinal, and Norwell Middle School publications for more details.

The evaluation process consists of having disinterested parties complete assessments based on skill level displayed at the evaluation. No person who completes player assessments is allowed to have a son participating in that evaluation.  The player assessments from coaches in the prior year will also be considered when appropriate. The goal is to have players rostered on teams based on their skill level and in a manner that would benefit the player, the team, and the program. The NBA will only make cuts where there may be insufficient players or coaches available to form a full team.

The registration fee will be $350.00 until October 15, 2021. There will be a $20.00 late fee assessed after October 15, 2021. A family discount is available at $50.00 per additional player. The fees cover the costs for league entry, all practice time, and pay for every team’s entry into at least two tournaments.  The NBA is not designed to generate a profit and it would not be possible without volunteers we rely on every year.

There are scholarships available to those in need. If you cannot afford the registration fee please contact us.  In order to ensure each child has their uniform for the start of the season, we recommend registering as early as possible.

The program is in need of 6 parent gym monitors who will rotate in pairs of 2 to monitor home games. This is on a first come basis. The registration fee for one player would be waived in appreciation for this service.
